We’ve spoken to well over 100 transfers this spring, and as much as we’d like to share info with the whole world, behind the scenes is where we earn our keep.
One interview that we wanted to share with the general public is the one that occurred last night with Northeastern graduate Kauri Black.
Black graduated from Northeastern in 3 years, and will be eligibile immediately at the next school he attends as a result.
It was refreshing to hear about a kid with all kinds of suitors and offers understand his worth and that the name on the front of the jersey is not going to guarantee him anything in terms of his final season of collegiate eligibility.
Black has taken 3 visits thus far, and has a slew of schools on him, but with two visits left the 2 favorites are Tulsa and Tennessee Tech. He has already visited Tulsa, and while he loves the staff, and believes Danny Manning can help him reach his ultimate goal of playing professionally, he is a loyal kid, and Tennessee Tech has been on him the longest.
He will be a mismatch problem in the OVC, capable of making guys around him better, while also carrying the team in spurts on different nights.
He can be productive in C-USA, especially w/ a depleted Tulsa roster, but there won’t be as many mismatches for him to take advantage of w/ his skill set.
